We have three kids, Ella, who is eight and in third grade, James who is six and in first grade and then Millie, who just started at Langley this year, and she is three. And in the preschool program, we were looking for a variety of factors, but one that really focused on the whole individual and not just the academic portion. So we really wanted a school that taught the social emotional learning and the academic learning and really focused on inquiry based learning where they were taught how to think and not what to think. One thing that's really appealing about the preschool to eighth grade model, for us as a family was the focus on early childhood development, the development, you know, with the three year olds, the five year olds, eight year olds, and the middle schoolers, rather than getting lost in the mix there, they get to stand out as the oldest ones, the leaders of the school, and really have a sense of leadership and ownership.
Langley is really special for the library, because the library was just built in the crosswords building and it has a lot of books and I love reading. So then it's like a place I can go to just read a lot of books.
We have found a real sense of belonging in the language community. My kids feel very safe when they come to school. They feel like they know not only their own teacher, but they know many of the teachers within the building. My kids come to school excited to be here. They are excited to learn. They are happy to come to school every single day. They are able to really feel at home wherever they are because of the Langley community.
